This Girl Can Eastleigh
Celebrating Women in Action!
Welcome to the legacy of This Girl Can Eastleigh, a campaign that inspired hundreds of women (aged 16+) across our borough to get active, break barriers, and celebrate fitness in all its forms. From walking and dancing to aerial fitness and yoga, we proved that no matter your shape, size, or experience, every woman can enjoy being active.
What was This Girl Can Eastleigh?
Launched as part of the national This Girl Can initiative by Sport England, our local campaign celebrated women doing their thing, whether they’re beginners or fitness enthusiasts. We empowered women aged 16+ to overcome barriers like fear of judgment, lack of confidence, and time constraints.
With a focus on fun, community, and inclusivity, we helped women of all ages and abilities discover that being active is for everyone—and it can be life-changing!
Success in Numbers
90.3% of participants would recommend the activities to a friend.
74.2% increased their activity levels since joining the campaign.
80.6% reported feeling more confident about exercising.
From Active Mums to Menopause Warriors, we brought women together to move, laugh, and support each other in their fitness journeys.

Dawn’s Story
At 61, Dawn picked up bowls through our free sessions, and now she’s not only making new friends but winning competitions!
Tracey’s Story
Tracey took up squash through This Girl Can and inspired her family to get active too—her two boys now swim while she enjoys her squash sessions.
These are just a few examples of the incredible transformations that happened because of this campaign.
Let’s keep moving!
Even though our official campaign has ended, we encourage you to continue exploring new ways to stay active. Remember, it’s not about perfection - it’s about showing up, having fun, and enjoying movement in any form!
