Shopping safely post lockdown

Eastleigh Town Centre

Non-essential retailers, pubs, restaurants and entertainment venues are closed during the National Lockdown restrictions.

We're committed to providing as safe a shopping environment as possible, helping people to feel safe when visiting the town centre and to support their local shops by shopping locally.

The Government advised local authorities to make appropriate changes to local roads to help with social distancing for residents, pedestrians and cyclists.

What are we doing to help with social distancing measures?

We have closed Market Street and High Street to vehicles and have suspended on-street .  This has been done in consultation with, and support from, Hampshire County Council and means both Market Street and High Street are open for pedestrian use only. You can find the temporary traffic order here (a simple map which explains the closures is below.)

Sustrans are collecting feedback from temporary schemes in response to COVID-19. You can leave feedback about the pedestrianisation of Eastleigh via their website. Simply search 'Eastleigh' on the interactive map and follow the instructions from there.
