"Forest Therapy is a magical, meditative journey using the healing power of nature to boost mood by reducing anxiety, stress and depression. I call it mindfulness enriched by nature connection. Connect…Immerse…Adore Your Outdoors.
The practice is based on the long-established Japanese wellness activity known as Shinrin-Yoku and it’s sometimes referred to in the UK as Forest Bathing. Over the 2-3 hour session, the forest therapy guide facilitates a number of mindfulness exercises all designed to activate participants’ senses, bring focus to the present moment and turn off the ruminating thoughts.
Not much ground is covered in a session and most of the time we are in a kind of silent meditative state except for the sharing circles after each exercise; it is definitely so much more than a 'walk in the woods'! The practice can be enjoyed throughout the seasons so it’s important to wrap up warm and keep dry, and I promise there is something magical about the forest in the rain."
Sessions will be held towards the bottom of our park off our cycle path.
