Hackney Carriage & Private Hire Change of Vehicle

To apply for a proposed hackney carriage or private hire change of vehicle you will need the following documents to upload during the application process. 

• V5C - Vehicle registration document or bill of sale if you have just purchased the vehicle (V5C to be produced when in possession)
• Certificate or cover note of insurance covering the vehicle for hire and reward for Hackney Carriage or Private Hire use and Social Domestic and Pleasure purposes for you and your licensed drivers.
• A mechanical inspection form completed by the workshop at Hedge End Depot for the new vehicle. 
• A meter certificate (if hackney carriage)
• An IVA certificate if the vehicle has been modified or is not M1 category

If you are unable to upload all the documents required, once the application is submitted and paid online, please email the documents to licensing@eastleigh.gov.uk. If no documents are provided, your application will not be processed and will be marked as invalid.

The proposed vehicle will be required to meet the appropriate policy and conditions for the licence.

The fee for the change of vehicle £60.00, for private hire vehicle there will also be a £16.00 fee for the Eastleigh door signs.
