Corporate Director
We are looking for an exceptional Corporate Director to work alongside the Chief Executive and Deputy Chief Executive to define our strategy.
“This is what councils should be doing.”
That’s what an external reviewer said about Eastleigh Borough Council, where some of the most interesting work in local government is happening on the ground.
With an experienced leadership team in place, longstanding organisational stability, a friendly, hard-working team and a flexible, supportive culture, Eastleigh could be where you take your career to the next level as our new Corporate Director.
Spoiler: not your average district!
Eastleigh is strategically located at the heart of south Hampshire. Our ‘can do’ culture says our job is to fix problems and improve quality of life for our residents. We like doing interesting and unusual things: thinking ahead, investing in priorities, influencing regionally and acting truly locally, with an impressive record of completing major projects and initiatives over many years.
Our achievements include one of the highest recycling rates in the south, delivery of major capital projects from elite sports venues to major mixed tenure housing developments, reducing Council Tax in real terms for 20 years running and tackling the housing crisis as the Borough’s leading housing developer. And now we’re delivering one of the largest developments in the country: a new 2,500-home community in the centre of the Borough.
We are looking for an exceptional Corporate Director to work alongside the Chief Executive and Deputy Chief Executive to define our strategy. You’ll provide leadership for essential services like planning, customer service, housing and waste. You’ll think strategically but have a laser-focus on performance and getting things done. You’ll live up to our People Strategy, inspiring and supporting our dedicated family of staff and embodying our culture and values in your work.
We’re open-minded about your background and your future responsibilities because we’re looking for someone who gets things done, not ticks boxes. If that sounds like you, we’d like to talk.
This is a politically restricted post.
