An award-winning artist is designing a new sculpture for Netley.
Eastleigh Borough Council has commissioned artist, Nick Hornby, to create the sculpture. It is being paid for by Developer’s Contributions.
Over the next year the artist will be researching the history of the area to develop his design for a large-scale sculpture on land owned by Hound Parish Council.
In 2024 Hornby won the Public Vote for The Public Statues and Sculpture Association’s Marsh Award for Excellence in Public Sculpture. He is a Fellow and Trustee of the Royal Society of Sculptors.
