Christmas lights to make Eastleigh town centre sparkle
Despite the current difficult circumstances, the Christmas lights in Eastleigh will be sparkling again this year. Although we are not able to stage the traditional ‘switch on’ event and firework display this year, Eastleigh will be illuminated with festive lights from Saturday 14 November.
Lights will again be placed around Eastleigh on Market Street and High Street as well as Leigh Road from the junction with Southampton Road to the Point (including the Precinct) and Wells Place. Icicle lights will also be placed on Eastleigh bandstand and there will be a cone of lights on Leigh Road precinct to replace the Christmas tree that was not available to be delivered this year.
Chair of Eastleigh Local Area Committee Cllr Tina Campbell said, “Despite the difficult situation and current lockdown restrictions, we are pleased to again provide the traditional Christmas lights throughout Eastleigh town centre. I hope they will provide a bit of sparkle and festive cheer for shoppers and visitors to the town centre over the coming festive season.”
