Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II - 1926 to 2022
From The Worshipful the Mayor of Eastleigh, Councillor Adam Manning
"On behalf of the people of Eastleigh Borough and its Council, I would like to express our sadness at the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
"We send our deepest condolences to the Royal Family and wish them strength during this sad period.
"Her Majesty visited the Borough on several occasions during her reign and was welcomed to the Eastleigh Civic Offices, accompanied by HRH The Duke of Edinburgh, in 1966. She will be remembered fondly by all who met her.
"This summer, roads were closed across the Borough to allow for street parties and other celebratory events to mark Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee.
"Flags are being flown at half-mast in the Leigh Road Recreation Ground. Books of condolence will be opened at The Point in Eastleigh Town Centre, as well as at Parish Council offices across the Borough. There will also be a national online book of condolence on the Royal website - www.royal.uk .
"More information on these and further arrangements will be communicated in the coming days."
