Mayor patrols with street pastors
Pastors offer help and support

The Mayor of Eastleigh, Councillor Dave Pragnell, was given an insight into the work of street pastors on a busy Friday night in Eastleigh town centre.
Street pastors offer support and assistance to anyone they find in need as they patrol. They often help vulnerable people, or others at risk of harm, young women who have been separated from their friends on a night out, people requiring minor first aid, or workers in the nighttime economy, such as door staff, who welcome a friendly chat.
The Mayor said: “Street pastors fulfil an essential role that is a huge benefit to Eastleigh and the visitors the town centre attracts in the evening. If you are minded to join the street pastors. they would be delighted to hear from you.”
The Mayor has a busy schedule, visiting community organisations, attending events, raising money for charities, and sharing updates in his blog.
