Safer Places Scheme

Helping vulnerable people feel safe in the community

Eastleigh's Safer Places Scheme offers vulnerable people a safe place to call into should they encounter any difficulties when out and about in the community.

A person who joins the scheme is issued with a Safe Place card, which includes the names and contact numbers of two relatives or friends who can be called on for help.

Local businesses or organisations that are part of the scheme are identified by a Safe Place sticker prominently displayed at the entrance.

If a vulnerable person is feeling harassed, bullied, scared or lost while out they can call into any of the places showing a Safe Place sticker. Here, a member of staff will be able to help them by calling the trusted person on the card (if carried) or to one of the numbers on an emergency contact list provided to the premises, while keeping the vulnerable person safe until the situation is resolved.

Safe Place cards and stickers are available from Eastleigh House and from Parish Offices or by emailing commsafe@eastleigh.gov.uk
