There are so many benefits to becoming an outdoor volunteer. It can be a lovely way to make new friends, learn new skills and above all - it's great fun!

NEW Plant Eastleigh Volunteers
Help us reach our target of 160,000 trees by 2030!
Plant Eastleigh launches their new community engagement project to involve local residents and volunteers in the planting and aftercare of trees in the Borough.
Help with practical tasks using a variety of hand tools such as spades, forks, mallets and loppers. Tasks include cutting back weeds and clearing areas for planting. Planting tree standards or whips and installing tree guards and stakes. The aftercare of planted trees such as controlling weeds, applying mulch and watering. No previous experience is needed.

Country Parks Event Volunteers
Volunteers wanted to help run exciting and varied events at Itchen Valley Country Park, on a casual adhoc basis. Could you be a friendly and welcoming face for families going on an adventure in the park or steward audiences coming to our outdoor shows? No experience needed, days and times will vary, you just need to be willing to be outside, whatever the weather.

Applicants will be contacted to confirm they have been added to our pool of volunteers and then we’ll be in touch about individual events when help is needed.
Countryside volunteers - currently full.
Practical conservation tasks take place at countryside locations across the Borough at various set dates and times. Applicants will be contacted to confirm they have been added to our countryside pool of volunteers. We will be in touch through the years with details of individual tasks at various locations. There is no pressure to attend every session.
You must be over 16 to apply (under 18's must be accompanied by a responsible adult)
Country Parks Conservation Volunteers
Itchen Valley Country Park - sessions take place at Itchen Valley Country Park on Wednesdays and Thursdays based on seasonal need.
Tasks include bulb planting, bird box building and playground maintenance to coppicing, creating hedgerows and pond maintenance and ditch digging.
Parking passes and refreshments will be provided and you must be over 18 to apply.
Lakeside Country Park - sessions take place at Lakeside Country Park on a Wednesday.
Tasks include meadow installation, scrub maintenance, wild garden creation and fence installation.
We have a community of like minded people who carry out conservation tasks to promote biodiversity as well as infrastructure tasks to create opportunities for visitors.
