Queen's View, Netley
Queen's View is situated in Netley, on the corner of the Queens View and Castle Road and located adjacent to Netley Recreation Ground.
Our proposals for a new residential development were recently consulted on and a planning application was submitted in October 2023.
Proposals
The proposals are to deliver a part 3-storey, part 2-storey building to provide 18 residential apartments and a ground floor retail unit. The development is an opportunity to utilise an existing brownfield site to help meet local housing demand in an existing residential area, whilst retaining the important local provision of a convenience store to serve the local community.
The new proposals will include:
- 18 x 1-bed and 2-bed apartments A ground floor retail unit to be let as a local convenience store/newsagent
- 22 car parking spaces for residents, visitors and shop users in a landscaped parking court
- Provision for 20 cycle spaces
- A pedestrianised link providing access to and from Netley Recreation Ground
- Landscaping, hedge and tree planting to achieve an overall onsite biodiversity net gain of over 10%
- Homes that meet the energy efficiency of the 2025 Future Homes Standards
- The development will benefit from a range of low carbon technology to include PV panels and EV changing points.
Development Timelines
(exact dates subject to change)
- October 2022 – July 2023: Design development and pre-application advice requests
- July – August 2023: Pre-application public consultation period
- October 2023: Planning application submitted
- Pending: Bursledon, Hamble and Hound Local Area Committee will consider the proposals
- 2025: Building works to commence (subject to planning approval) with an anticipated programme of 16-18 months.
