Why aren't we building on brownfield land?

There is a major need to provide new homes across South Hampshire to help ensure everyone can buy or rent the home they need.  Eastleigh Borough Council has been working with all the other Councils in South Hampshire to focus these new homes within the cities and towns wherever possible.  In the past 20 years the Council has successfully redeveloped older industrial areas in Eastleigh town to provide new homes.  However the scale of housing needed to ensure everyone can afford a home means that housing is also needed in green field areas.  The Council has carefully assessed all the potential locations for green field development before reaching its decision on the preferred location for development.
