Last chance to apply for solar roofing equipment for community groups in the Borough
If you know a community group that could benefit solar roofing equipment, we're encouraging you to submit your application as soon as possible, applications will close midday on Friday 9 December. The solar panels are the latest offering to come from contractors working with the Council on the One Horton Heath project.
One Horton Heath is our flagship mixed-use development and as part of this project contractors are committed to deliver on Social Value outcomes. These can be offers of employability support, funding, or equipment/resource donations to local groups.
Ecogen Energy are the first contractors to offer a donation of a 4KW PV system of roof solar panels. The 4KW unit will generate approximately 4,000kw per year, which in monetary value is around £1500 per year if all the electricity is used on site.
The equipment would be best located on a building of one or two floors and needs an unshaded roof on which to be installed.
Ecogen Energy are looking for a local Eastleigh group that can demonstrate the difference this equipment would make to them and the money it could save their organisation. They will accept applications from non-profit making community groups, voluntary organisations, trusts, friendly societies, social enterprises and community interest companies providing that their objectives are charitable.
