Old Bursledon conservation area

Old Bursledon conservation appraisal and management proposals were formally adopted by Eastleigh Borough Council in February 2012.

As part of the issuing of a direction to remove permitted development rights for outbuildings in rear gardens of houses in the Old Bursledon Conservation Area  in November 2019, the Council undertook a consultation which concluded in January 2020.

A report regarding the outcome of the consultation was prepared and was due to be considered by Bursledon, Hamble and Hound Local Area Committee on 16 March 2020.  Due to the coronavirus outbreak, this meeting was cancelled.  The recommendations contained within the report to the Local Area Committee have subsequently been considered and approved under delegated powers by the Council’s Chief Officer.

The direction has now been confirmed which means it remains in place permanently unless the Council makes a subsequent direction to modify or cancel it.
